大学 of The Albemarle’s (COA) General Business Administration curriculum is designed to introduce you to various aspects of the free enterprise system. You’ll be provided with a fundamental k现在ledge of business functions, 流程, and an understanding of business organizations in today’s global economy.
Class work includes business concepts such as accounting, 商业法, 经济学, management and marketing. Skills related to the application of these concepts are developed through the study of computer applications, 沟通, team building and decision-making. Through these skills, students will have a sound business education base for lifelong learning.
Dual-enrollment opportunities are available.
This program includes a Work-Based Learning option. A successful work learning experience is helpful in seeking employment.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, students will:
- Develop and use balance sheets and income statements to gauge the performance of an actual firm
- Work proficiently with the QuickBooks small business accounting system
- Complete a corporate analysis of actual firms and present the comparative findings
Partnership (beginning fall 2021)
COA has an articulation agreement with Mid-Atlantic Christian University (MACU). Graduates of the A.A.S. degree in General Business Administration may transfer into the B.S. Business Administration program at MACU.
COA has a bilateral agreement with Elizabeth City State University (ECSU). Graduates of the A.A.S. degree in General Business Administration may transfer into the B.S. Business Administration (concentration in Economics and Finance) program at ECSU.
COA has a bilateral agreement with ECSU. Graduates of the A.A.S. degree in General Business Administration may transfer into the B.S. Business Administration (concentration in Management and Entrepreneurship) program at ECSU.
COA has a bilateral agreement with ECSU. Graduates of the A.A.S. degree in General Business Administration may transfer into the B.S. Business Administration (concentration in Marketing and MIS) program at ECSU.
Winter Intersession
The General Business Administration program offers a select number of accelerated Winter Intersession Courses. Winter intersession is an online intensive four-week class offered between the fall and spring semesters.
An intensive course means that you’re expected to complete the same course work that is taught in a 16-week course within a four-week time frame. You’ll be required to complete work on a daily basis. If a class is a three contact hour course taught over 16 weeks, the 48 hours of the course will be covered in four weeks.
